Marco de Leon

Born on February 19, 1979 in Quezon City, Marco de Leon began his musical journey at the age of 13 when he first picked up a guitar. By 16, he had purchased his first tape recorder—a Tascam Porta 02—which he used to record his high school band and soon after, other local acts. This early "side hustle" of capturing demos for peers revealed his natural talent and passion for audio recording and mixing.

As a self-taught musician and audio enthusiast, Marco spent his early years doing free production work for friends and for his own band, continually sharpening his technical skills and musical sensibility. His break into the professional music industry came in 2003, when he was tapped by a major label to arrange and produce tracks for solo artists—a milestone that marked the beginning of his formal production career. He had a very exciting career on live music and in the studio producing more than 2000 releases in his early years and playing arenas and stadiums in the Philippines and abroad for 2 decades.

Pushing the boundaries of analog sound in a digital age, Marco and his wife Nikki de Leon launched Mix Machine Analog in 2018—the only fully analog recording, production, and vinyl mastering studio in the Philippines. This analog facility has since become home to some of his finest and most authentic work, maintaining his commitment to the recording arts and analog audio. Marco and Nikki has done Vinyl cutting workshops and live vinyl recordings in the Philippines, Thailand and Taiwan and in Japan. Mix Machine Analog is a global brand making its way in the international analog recording space. And now, Marco de Leon is a member of THE RECORDING ACADEMY, this further solidifies his placement in the global music scene.
